McClusky, Nichols qualify for state golf finals

Senior Madison McClusky and sophomore Frankie Lee Nichols qualified for the IHSA state golf championships in Decatur.

Senior Madison McClusky and sophomore Frankie Leigh Nichols qualified for the IHSA 1A State Golf Tournament in Decatur.

According to Facebook updates posted by McClusky’s mother, Lori Black McClusky, both McClusky and Nichols scored well enough on the first day of the tournament to advance to day two play.

Among the highlights of the day was a birdie putt on the eighteenth hole for McClusky, the last hole of her high school career.

McClusky finished with 83/82 (165) and Nichols with 83/85 (168).

The girls golf team is coached by McClusky’s grandmother, former Unit 3 technology directory Cindy Black.
