Is Raising Cane’s worth the hype?
Marion is becoming a popular and growing community. Many food options are opening up all around us. As everyone knows, Raising Cane’s has opened and has been the ¨talk¨ of the town.
People have many different opinions when it comes to food. We both think that Raising Cane’s is pretty good. When we both went in everyone had hyped it up, so we went in with high expectations. We had heard horror stories about how long the lines were going to be. In fact, videos of the line stretching all the way out to the highway were being posted all over social media.
As impatient as we are, we did not have to wait in a long line. In fact, our food came out in no time. We think that the fries are really good, the bread was our favorite thing, the chicken was good but nothing special. As everyone knows, Cane’s sauce is the most popular thing there. We were pretty disappointed, it was not as good as we thought it would be in comparison to the hype.
We went into the experience with high expectations. Both of us have heard of people who love stopping at Canes any time they go on a trip and see one on the way. But it seems like now that we have one nearby, the excitement of the well known chain really isn’t that much of a big deal.
Other HHS Students feel the same way. Junior Quincy Nicholes says,¨It was good, it wasn’t as good as everyone says it is. For going on the very first day, I got a keychain, a lanyard, and a chapstick. It’s not worth the hype.” As far as the food goes, Nicholes also was disappointed. Like others, she had built up the food in her mind and was really excited for the first trip to Cane’s. In fact, Nicholes and several friends visited on opening day.
Students planning a visit to Raising Cane’s, should schedule that trip now. Since opening the fast food chain, competing restaurant Chick Fil A has opened right down the road. That has definitely affected the long lines at Cane’s making the wait time to get your chicken fingers much less than it was before.
